I began diving in 2001 while on a holiday in Portugal. I was offered a free try a dive at the hotel pool and was hooked from that moment.
I completed my PADI Open Water course that year in Gran Canaria over 3 days of the holiday. I completed the rest of my training in Ireland, becoming an instructor in 2011.
I have upwards of 3500 dives logged and regularly dive on the East coast of Ireland. Dun Laoghaire, Dalkey Island, Mugglins Rock. Sorrento Bay, Skerries, Lambay & Howth are all regular sites I have visited. Cold water dives are my passion but I have also dived many warm sites around the Canaries and regularly visit the Island of Tenerife, where the diving is available all year round. Frequent winter trips help me to keep wet.
My passion is in the teaching of Scuba Diving. It is one of the most fun and exciting sports to teach any one. I get great enjoyment in seeing the happiness in students faces when they first experience the ability to breathe underwater and see what its like to be submerged in the ocean.
I have made many close friends in the Diving world and would like to think that the dive buddies I have made over the past decade have been the best pals any one could have asked for.
My future goals as an instructor are to obtain my Staff Instructor credentials and develop Irish Scuba Academy as a key leader in the Irish Dive Industry.
